Harrods Magazine 'Flower Show' Make-up & Post by Emma Miles

The story for Harrods magazine was called 'Flower Show' shot by Jason Ell, I did a spring inspired make up.

I used 7 sets of various shapes and sizes of fake eyelashes on the eyes to create a  opening effect like a flower in spring. Starting with the smallest lashes at the eyelash line and gradually working my way over the lid into the socket line using larger more exaggerated lashes.

By Maria Comparetto : Jayne Pierson Presentation - London Fashion Week

Having already done the Jayne Pierson look book for the collection a week before I felt pretty relaxed about this show.

Jayne's clothes are so beautiful, I was really touched to be asked back to do the makeup yet again with the backing of MAC cosmetics. We went off to Somerset House bustling with the fashionistas, celebrities, models and any other strangely dressed people that were hanging out (including a mini Cleopatra)?!

The look was really ethereal yet beautiful, the skin was slightly paled down and illuminized using lustre drops MAC "Pink Rebel" on the cheek bones and temples.

I used
MAC "Pearl" Cream Colour Base on the brow bone and a sweep of MAC "Spite" Lipglass was used on the eyelids but no mascara.

The eyes were emphasised and accentuated by applying MAC "NW 15" Chromagraphic Pencil inside the waterline of the eye and MAC "Greyprint" Technakohl applied liberally under the eye in combination with MAC "Copperplate" Eyeshadow. This was really blended to create a natural shadow. Brow Set "Clear" was applied in an upwards motion to the brows to polish off the eye area.

Using MAC "Tea Petal" Creme blend Blush I lightly contoured the cheeks and used MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme "Dress it up"  on the lips to finish off the look.

By Eli Wakamatsu - Suki Waterhouse meets Twin Peaks for Lovecat Magazine

Derrick Santini shot this funky story with model, Suki Waterhouse for Lovecat magazine which is a new fashion model fanzine from NYC. It's introduced as taking its identity from the old school Teen Beats and Punk Rock fanzines, but with a sexy pinup approach. Published quarterly, it features some of the hottest models from every major agency shot by some of the top and up in coming fashion photographers.

Pepe Jeans s/s 2012 campaign model Suki Waterhouse is a young London model signed with Next Models.
With lots of energy and all the right attitude makes her hugely successful as a model as well as an actor, she is fun, cool and always open minded to try new things for the shoot.

The shoot was inspired by the cult tv show from 80's 'Twin Peaks'. We tried to portray it's very original and quirky world with the look.

The make up look I gave Suki has a mood of 50's bubble gummy feel with a hint of quirkiness, using Nars base, Nars Semi Matt Lipstick in ‘Schiap’ and Shimmer eyeshadow in ‘Etrusque’.

After filling her eyebrow into strong shape which gives a little quirkiness, her beautifully long Eyelash well curled, I applied Nars mascara only on the outer flick of the top lashes to give her slight touch of 50s like some of 'Twin Peaks' characters.

By Eli Wakamatsu - PRINT POWER Glamour April 2012

Eli Wakamatsu (assisted by the lovely Rebecca McMahon) worked on this shoot 'PRINT POWER' for UK Glamour Magazine April 2012 with the photographer, David Oldham. Here's what she had to say about it.

When we saw the lovely new season clothes all with beautiful prints by D&G, Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen, Marni and Moschino to create ' Day' and 'Night' looks, we wanted to alter the make up to each outfit so that it's would give a different mood to fit in with each look.

I prepped Elena, the model's skin with Decleor DOUBLE RADIANCE CREAM for a fresh 'glowy' base followed by amazing Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation

I shaped Elena's eyebrow with all girl's must have Chanel's eyebrow kit.

For her lips I used are Top shop LIPS IN MISCHIEF for a lovely bold colour, so many other fun colours are available now such as YSL's Rouge Pur Couture 27 Fuchsia Innocent, I think it's one of the best Fuchsia shades around! And I love Nars Pure Matt lipstick, for a matt velvety finish, there are some very nice  colours in the selection.

Let's enjoy the spring collection with prints and colour!

The Independent February 25th - Make-up by Emma Miles

Emma Miles worked on the make-up for this shoot with the photographer Jeon Seung Hwan for The Independent. Gemma Hayward styled the shoot which was published last Saturday 25th February.

The story was a feature on Dries Van Noten. Emma did the make-up in keeping with the style of the clothes: very androgynous and was inspired by the film 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. Although the make-up was not as severe as in the film, using Japonesque products, Emma kept the eyes bare, with no mascara and said "just contouring the natural socket with a taupe eyeshadow - a very editorial look which I love".

Emma prepared the skin beforehand using Sisley skin care "The Radiant Glow Express Mask is brilliant as a pre prep with a cucumber eye mask for any look".

By Eli Wakamatsu Combat the Dark and Cold with Spring Summer Make-up and Skincare

We all know it has been so freezing with many people having colds and flu. I look at myself with my red nose and dry, dull skin, and it weighs me down so I started to think about  a list of beauty goodies help us to fight it and remind us that Spring is on it's way.

This deserved winner of the best night cream InStyle hall of fame 2012 is and amazing anti ageing treat. As my friend make up artist Ruth Funnell commented in the Best Beauty Buys 2012 magazine, "This is the Cartier watch of the skin care world and worth investing in." I have to say, I agree totally. It's repairs, heals and enriches your face  while sleeping.

I feel my skin is a dull shade in this season, and miss having a true glow from the sun. This cream and gel formulation with essential oils and Plant oils rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 treat inner and  outer skin needs, providing instant and lasting radiance.

CHANEL SPRING2012 HERMONIE DE PRINTEMPS These Spring Nail colours in beautiful spring Pastel shades called APRIL, MAY and JUNE. Also check out the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Flert a great tangerine shade.

Yves Saint Laurent spring collection has this twin set manicure duo also in sweet sugar pastel shades and I love their spring collection LIPSTICK in candy pink with gold hue; Volupté Sheer Candy

Armani Make up has a phenomenonal foundation called Designer lift created by the Linda Cantello which using Prussian blue pearlised pigment to lift overall skin radiance, evens skin tone whilst looking
extremely natural.
I am impressed with the quality of this foundation, please try your shade and see the difference.

DIOR SKIN ROSY GLOW Blusher gives you literally the perfect rosy glow which is tailor-made healthy  as it reacts with the moisture in each skin type.

SHISEIDO NEW SHIMMERING CREAM EYE SHADOW SPRING SUMMER 2012, created by Dick Page has the most incredible texture unlike any other cream eye shadow. It's also has shimmer structure with extraordinarily  luminous quality which lift the darkness of this season. And the BOBBI BROWN LONG-WEAR CREAM SHADOW which glides on beautifully and stays put for hours with no flaking or creasing.

And lastly ( and this is completely personal choice for myself as a feline lover) to cheer myself up with this cutest PAUL&JOE 2012 SPRING CREATION KITTEN COLLECTION

Check the cat lipstick ! So Cute. Feeling better already!

Keep warm!
Eli
